Mobile Access Control Solutions
Date :

Frontline have been appointed as an authorised reseller of Smart Media Innovations (SMI) mobile access control readers.
The readers are in the form of a hand held PDA that can be used in remote locations to verify that an access control card is valid or to identify the individual cardholder using data, images and other biometric information.
The SMI readers, which can transmit and receive date over a secure wireless connection, are designed to function with Smartcards i.e. HID iClass or MIFARE. As such the data on each reader can be synchronised with the database of an existing or new security system.
Ideal for applications where large number of people need to be given access over a short period of time and where barriers would therefore slow down the process, the SMI readers allow security personnel to quickly verify that a person is entitled to gain access or be where they are on a site. An example of where this would be valuable would be on building site where there a large number of contractors but where it is not practical to install turnstiles to control access onto the site.
SMI have recently introduction a Muster function which in the event of a fire or some other emergency will rapid identification of personnel and identify those that have yet to evacuate a building.
