Quality Time with a Quality Manufacturer

For such a forward looking company, Boon Edam has an interesting history. It was founded in 1873. Called G.Boon, it operated as a carpentry shop in Amsterdam, moving to Edam in 1970 and changing its name in the process. The company supplied its first revolving door over 100 years ago and has since become acknowledged as a world market leader in revolving doors.
Peter Goodenough, one of the four Frontline Directors that made the trip over to Edam was impressed with what he saw. “Almost every order that Boon Edam receives is individually customised in some way. With the number of options and permutations they offer, it is impressive that they can turn orders around so quickly”
As a System Integrator we would normally only see a product such as a turnstile as a completed product when it is taken out of the packaging at a client’s site. In what is a very modern manufacturing facility, we were able to appreciate just how much effort has goes into transforming the individual parts of a product into a fully assembled piece of equipment. At the same time we could not fail to notice the quality of the materials that are used in the components.
